Belconnen Community Men's Shed

Men helping men build a better community

Shed as it stands

Christmas in July

Tony (our resident BBQ'er) is looking to see if there is any interest in a Christmas in July event.
  • A lunch time in July
  • $5.per head approximately
  • A minimum of 20 people will be needed to make it viable.
  • Tony will be preparing the meal.
  • Tony would also like to know if we have any avid gardeners who could provide a pumpkin.

If you want to attend please put you name on the white board in the shed, or talk directly with Tony.

If we get enough interest, Tony will advise the most suitable date for the lunch that will accommodate as many interested members as possible.

A request.

I've had a request from Amy Nussio who is an Occupational Therapist, Research Assistant, to ask

I am a local Occupational Therapist involved in the Living with Dementia and Driving study. This is a national NHMRC funded study that aims to investigate ways to support people with dementia and their family members cope with driving and stopping driving. Participants in the study and their carer will have an opportunity to participate in a community-based support and education program called CarFreeMe.

I have attached a link to an article that provides more background information

https://psychology.uq.edu.au/article/2018/02/uq-program-prepares-older-australians-car-free-life#.WnvcFoDob1Q.twitter

I am keen to advertise the project in the Newsletter section on the Belconnen Men's Shed website as there may be members who know or care for someone with dementia, of have been diagnosed with early dementia themselves.

I have attached a flyer for the study here

If anyone is interested please contact Amy.
