Men helping men build a better community

Shed as it stands

Shed General Meeting This Tuesday 10th Dec 2013. At the shed, door opens 6:30pm meeting starts at 7pm.

Precautions have been put in place to stop it going too late (we haven't installed the lights yet!).

BBQ Saturday 14th, around smoko time, we need to do a bit of floor prep before we break.

Last working Bee, Wednesday 18th, this will be tidy up and getting ready for 2014.

Getting back into it Saturday Jan 11th. I will drop you a reminder in the new year.

If you forget check the website, Paul will have the date up there.

This week:

Gordon built a couple of wall panels for the mezzanine floor.

The UniStrut for the light fittings was shortend on one side of the Shed, the other will be done next week. It was agreed they were too low and would probably get the light fittings damaged.

Bob and his team finished off the Kitchen Cupboards. Chris came in and helped redesign the kitchen for the size cupboards we have.

Plans for cleaning and painting the floor were put into place. We have two people going to wash the floor down with acid and prep it on Monday, there may even be a first coat of paint depending on how long it takes. Then Wednesday we will be painting the floor or applying the second coat. Moving everything ready to do the other side of the shed.

I have a photo for you this week that no only shows Gordon's work on the mezzanine floor, but also proves the statement I make regularly that we don't just need workers in the shed, supervisors and cheer squads are also important.

Its great to see the number of people turning up each week, to help our shed grow.

The Carols by Candlelight BBQ went well and we sold around 200 snags, along with a good number of drinks.

Plans for next year:

If we don't see you this week at the Shed Hope you have a great Christmas and get lots of toys to bring for show and tell next year.
