Dear Interest Group,
That day that all have been waiting for is now near, the opening of the shed. The proposed date is late March. The shed opener will the former Captain of the Canberra Raiders, Allan Tongue. We are working towards some political representation as well as those who have donated to the shed: ranges from individuals to companies. The Committee and weekly workers are concentrating on getting the commitment, including media attendance.
Two big jobs are required. The first is paving at the front of the shed and some areas at the rear of the shed and near the community centre. The second is the laying down of weed mat and mulch. Both these jobs in our assessment can be done in a day.
We know that many of you are busy people; hover we ask that you set aside that day. See how the shed has evolved. See what activities are already unofficially happening. The materials will be there: wacka packer, sand and pavers, weed mat and mulch. Bring your wheel barrows, shovels, rakes and any tools that show what amazingly efficient people men are, this includes determination and resourcefulness. Bring eats and 'beverages' (no alcohol please) and anything you feel will make the day better for you.
Can you please respond to this newsletter or email@example.com by COB 24 Feb 14. (I will be on course on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of this week). It will be really helpful to know the sort attendance we can expect. However if you suddenly find yourself available after the 24th you will still be more than welcome.
For those attending the Working Bees, and anyone interested:
You will notice that some boxes of donations are making their way into the shed. You will also notice that there is not an avalanche! The aim here is that on the Wednesday and Saturday mornings these boxes will be triaged. Those items which will have some benefit to the shed will be tested and retained. Those that are for the garage sale will be sorted, priced and set aside.
Tasks on foot currently: the sail for the courtyard, electricity connection and lighting, shelving in the loft, staircase to the loft, completion of the kitchen, IT matters, assembling of the BBQ, sink connection (hand washing type). These matters are in hand and are progressing.
Not that sort of sail, who writes these newsletters????
