Belconnen Community Men's Shed

Men helping men build a better community

Shed as it stands

Yes we have locked in the Shed opening date!

It's official the Shed will open on

Thursday the 27 March

with the official opening scheduled for midday.

There will be a BBQ lunch, so bring your family bring your friends, bring potential members. I'm sure Dean will find time to sign them up on the day.

The all day working bee has also been confirmed for Saturday the 1st March, there is lots to do, not just paving! We need to tidy up and make the place look presentable for the opening, so if your not into paving we have work for you. We are still looking for confirmations you can make it, response has been pretty poor to date.

This Saturday (Tomorrow) we have some outside work to get started, Peter has spotted some clean back fill that we need to move and start filling in down the side of the Shed. There are some more shelf units to build for the mezzanine floor, there are things like the metal lathe to move into position. Then there is always the tool donations that need sorting.

Things are in full swing, some working bees are going longer because people want to put in the effort, some people are doing things on none working days. It's a case of all hands on deck and full steam ahead.

3 Phase power has now been connected to the Community Centre and work is in progress to get it live over to the Shed, so we should be powered up soon.

We will also need to start making some signs and flyers for the Shed opening so if you have talents in that area get your creative talents juiced up and come help. If you can't make them maybe you can help distribute/place them, we need all sorts and time is short.

If you happen to have a Visitors/Guest Book hanging around that hasn't been used, I know a Shed that could use one.
